Cookie Policy

Which cookies and similar technologies Backed uses, what each one does, and how to choose.
v1.0Updated 6 October 2026

01What cookies are#

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies include local storage and tags (small pieces of code that send information to a provider). In this policy, “cookies” covers all of them.

02What we use#

  • Strictly necessary: keeping you signed in, security, remembering your consent choice, your theme and sidebar preferences, and carrying a discount or referral code to checkout. These are always on.
  • First-party analytics: we count page views and button clicks on our own servers, without cookies and without any third party, to improve the site and app.
  • Attribution: a first-party cookie (backed_attr) on backed.io remembers how you arrived (for example an ad click id, campaign tags or a referral code) for 90 days, so we know which campaigns lead to sign-ups and orders.
  • Advertising (Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Pixel): measure our ads and build audiences. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland these load only after you accept them in the consent banner; elsewhere they follow Google’s Consent Mode settings.

03Your choices#

Where consent is required, the banner lets you accept or decline advertising cookies, and you can change your mind at any time with the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; strictly necessary cookies are needed for sign-in and checkout to work.

04Third parties#

Google and Meta process data from their tags under their own privacy policies. Adobe Fonts delivers the fonts used on this site and receives your IP address when it does.
